IMPACTO: Crusade, November VBS, Promised Land, Immer & Pastor Juan
CRUSADE REPORT
Praise the Lord! Over 60 souls were won for Christ during the April 11-13 crusade in Iglesia Adonai! What a wonderful time of praise and worship! The presence of the Lord was felt and we give thanks to Him for bringing new souls into the Kingdom! Many thanks to the choir and all who worked so hard to make the crusade possible. Also … the choir team is now working at the lake and the family they are building a house for came to Christ yesterday! Praise the Lord!
NOVEMBER VBS
It's time to start planning for November VBS! This year, there will be 3 weeks of VBS. Teams are still needed to help by planning, providing materials for, and leading crafts and games. These VBS weeks are the largest children's evangelistic outreach of the year and the opportunity to reach young souls for Christ is tremendous. Impacto has $3,000 of the $8,000 needed to provide meals, teaching supplies, and publicity for the three weeks. Remember there will be over 1,500 children the first week alone! Donations are needed as well as teams. Please pray and consider if you can come to help share the love and light of Jesus with the children. September 1 is the deadline for teams to commit to coming. Please let Sarah know if you will be bringing a team by emailing her at spoythress@newlifelaplata.org.
Here are the dates, the theme and daily information to start planning.

PROMISED LAND: MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING
Praise the Lord! God has blessed Impacto again with a donation of $18,000 for the multipurpose building! That brings our total to $42,000 of the $89,000 needed. The maestro has been hired and work has begun! Plans are to complete the first floor this year and when God provides the rest of the funds needed, the second floor will be added. Some of the teams coming this summer are planning to help work on the building! The following proposal is something we would really like to for you to consider taking to your church to present and help us raise funds. As soon as the building is completed, it will be put to many, many uses to further the Kingdom. Thank you for praying and working with us to accomplish this goal.
Proposal for Multipurpose Building at Promised Land
IMPACTO was blessed to be able to purchase land at Lake Atitlan, San Pedro, Guatemala, in 2006. The house that was on the land has been repaired: new roof, drywall installed and painted, bunk beds and storage shed constructed. IMPACTO has been blessed again with the free services of a civil engineer and an architect who have surveyed the land and drawn up blueprints for the construction of a multipurpose building. This building will be two stories with rooms for housing the cooks, the land overseer, bathrooms, showers, storage, a kitchen with industrial equipment and pantry space for food storage, a large open room where teams will eat, hold devotions, and work on preparations for crafts and projects. The large room also will be used for meetings of the Guatemalan Board, pastor training sessions, medical and dental clinics, church retreats, specific age-targeted ministry events, and many other gatherings. Estimated cost of the entire project is $89,000. The first floor will cost approximately $50,000 because of the necessity of using steel beams and a deep foundation for support. The Guatemalan Board and IMPACTO are ready to begin work on this building but would like to have at least $40,000 in the bank before breaking ground. Several teams have offered to come to Guatemala to help with construction and are willing to contribute a couple thousand dollars when they come to purchase supplies. The architect is willing to come back and draw off the exact measurements so the maestro, workers, and teams can begin clearing land. The Guatemalan Board and IMPACTO are praying that God will provide the resources for the multipurpose building to be completed as soon as possible with a goal of the first floor completed by late fall of this year and the second floor completed in 2009.
The Guatemalan Board and IMPACTO would like to request your church to make a contribution towards the construction of this building. The uses of the building for evangelistic outreach to the churches we serve in Guatemala, and to the local community are enormous.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Serving Christ with you,
Pastor Luis Martinez, IMPACTO
Pastor Carlos Rivas, Guatemalan Board Chairman
UPDATE ON IMMER AND PASTOR JUAN
Many, many thanks to all of you who have sent donations to help with medical expenses. If no other problems arise, there is enough in this fund to take care of all their expenses. God is so good!
Immer is feeling better! He sends the following note:
Helo
Thank you very much for your prayers. I am a little better, I take medicine every 12 hours (many antibiotics). Thank you very much for everything, all my family send to you many hugs.
God provide my medicine trough you. Pastor Luis Felipe gave me money for that.
Again thank you very much for everything.
Immer
Pastor Juan's surgery has been postponed by the doctor. The doctor has given Pastor Juan medicine for the infections his ears and eyes and wants to wait until the round of meds has been completed. Pastor Juan saw the doctor last week and is to return when the meds are finished … probably another 2 weeks. He does have new glasses and shoes thanks to contributions for him and he is extremely happy with them. Pastor Luis said that the glasses look great on Pastor Juan and that Pastor Juan just keeps saying "Thank you!" because he can see so much better. Praise the Lord!
