IMPACTO: Ministry Update
Greetings everyone,
Plans are moving along for November's VBS weeks and everyone is really getting excited! Looks like there will be around 30 people coming to serve in Iglesia Adonai the first week, around 50 coming to serve in the lake area churches and do construction, and around 40 coming to serve in Zacapa! Please keep these folks and the leaders of Iglesia Adonai lifted in your prayers as they work hard to prepare for ministering to the children. Also, pray that God will be working in the hearts of the children and adults that will be ministered to, that they will be open to His saving grace.
October 1-5 there will be a team serving in Iglesia Adonai. This team is going to be bringing sewing machines and teaching ladies how to sew, then the ladies will be given the machine they have used during the classes. This will enable the ladies to sew and make items to sell, hopefully adding to the family income. A few men will be on the team and they are planning to do some construction inside Iglesia Adonai. Also, the team will be bringing a few desk-top computers for use in the church and in Casita Adonai. One of the team members is going to have training sessions with some of the ones who will use the computers. What a blessing this team will be! Please keep them lifted in your prayers, too.
October 11-18 there will be a medical team serving in the Lake Atitlan area. Plans are to go to a new village that has had very, very few visitors. This past summer was the first time they had ever seen white-skinned people. We probably will not know until the last minute if we can get trucks to this village because it has been raining a lot and there have been some mudslides. If the roads are too bad, the team will need to go to Zacapa to serve. Fortunately, the team says they are very flexible and willing to serve where needed! God is in control and we will see what He has in store.
Pastor Luis and Dinora have been busy this fall, traveling to churches for mission events. They have enjoyed visiting with old friends, making new ones and just being able to minister together. Pastor Luis will be traveling to Ohio October 4th to lead a fall revival. Services will be Sunday through Tuesday evening. Please keep him in your prayers as he shares the Word of God and the message of His saving grace. Also, please keep Dinora in your prayers as she will not be traveling with him.
For those of you who know Pastor Carlos and Delmi, we rejoice with them at the birth of a new grandchild... baby boy Alek Nicolas Rivas was born Sept. 19 at 11:20 p.m, weighing in at 7 lbs. 12 oz., and 21" long. We ask that you keep little Nicolas in your prayers. He was born with a heart problem and may be facing surgery.
Many, many thanks for your support whether it be financial, words of encouragement, or prayers lifted for Pastor Luis and the Impacto Ministry.
We pray that God will richly bless you all.
