IMPACTO: November Update

Greetings to everyone!

Thank you for all your prayers and support for Impacto's ministry efforts! We could not possibly do everything without your help.

Last week was an amazing week in Coban, with a team of 11 who came from Canada to serve and minister for the week.  The team did construction on the pastor's house and kitchen, held VBS and gave lots and lots of encouragement to everyone they came in contact with during the week. It was a wonderful week of service in the name of Christ!  Over 200 children came every day to the VBS and learned and sang songs, Bible verses, played games, and heard Bible stories.  During the week, around 112 little ones came to know Christ as their personal Savior! We give all the praise and glory to God and thank Him for each soul won for the Kingdom!

This week is the week of VBS in Guatemala City and there are around 33 people from the U.S. and Canada serving!  It was a wonderful "reunion day" on Saturday as many of these folks come every year to help in the City VBS week and they have become like a family!  This week they are hard at work in the mornings in Iglesia Adonai and afternoons in The People's Church.  Plus, some of them are working on other projects when not helping with VBS. What a great time of fellowship and service!

Of course we have VBS in the lake area churches next week and then in Zacapa the week following that one! Please keep all our missionaries lifted in your prayers and each child that will attend!  We are praying for a harvest of souls for eternity!

Pastor Luis has been very busy traveling on weekends to hold missions conferences and preach in churches around the U.S.  This past weekend he flew back to the States to be in a church in Plymouth, Indiana.  He said his time there was wonderful and he was very happy to have the opportunity to share about Impacto's ministry efforts and about the love of Christ.

In December, Impacto will be teaming with the Guatemalan Board to provide a special day for all the pastors that serve our churches in Guatemala.  This special day will be held during a week when a construction team will be spending two days in Poacorral, one day in T'zucobol, and then two days in San Pedro. The team will help by spending the day ministering to the pastors and their families.  It will be the Christmas celebration for the pastors and we are hoping to be able to provide Christmas baskets of food, plus a toy for each child and a gift for each pastor and spouse.  Please keep our pastors lifted in your prayers.  We appreciate so much donations made to the Pastors Fund.  Throughout the year, this fund has been a tremendous blessing as we have used it to help pay for medical bills and other emergency situations for the pastors.  If you would like to help us provide a special meal and these small gifts, you should feel free to send a contribution to Impacto and designate it "Pastors Fund."

Pastor Luis, Pastor Carlos, and the Guatemalan Board are working very hard on ministry efforts and wanted to thank all of you for your prayers, financial support, and for every team that has come to share the love of Christ.

If you'd like to bring a team in 2011 to minister with us, please contact Sarah at spoythress@newlifelaplata.org to get on the calendar!

Blessings in Christ to all.
