IMPACTO: July 8, 2011
Greetings from Guatemala!
ANTONIO MENDEZ: Tony's dad called late Wednesday to tell Tony that his kidneys have started to fail. He was in very good spirits and said that he is trusting in God's will for his life. Tony and Andrea will be staying in Guatemala City this next week and Tony is going to try to get his dad in to see the doctor ASAP. Even though there will be a team at the lake, everyone feels that Tony needs to stay in the City and work with his dad. The surgery has been scheduled for July 26 but Tony really is going to push for it to be moved up if any way possible. The social worker told them to expect the surgery to cost around $10,000 but Antonio is scheduled to go back on July 15 for another check-up and he is to present a statement of how much money he has so the social worker will give them the final amount (hopefully) that the surgery will cost. This week, a couple donated $3,000 towards the surgery, bringing the total donated to around $6,500 towards the surgery...Praise God! We are still praying and trusting that God will provide for all Antonio's needs. We serve a mighty God who is SO alive and at work today! Thank you for every prayer lifted. We are telling Antonio when someone sends an email saying they are praying for him and it has been a real encouragement to him. He said he will never be able to thank everyone enough for their prayers, words of encouragement, and financial donations. He feels very humbled. Please continue to keep Antonio lifted in your prayers.
In all things, give thanks!
