IMPACTO: July 26 Updates
We are also asking prayers for Bradley, a young man who served on two missions teams this summer in Guatemala and Liberia. In Liberia, he contracted an extremely aggressive type of malaria. Having survived an initial battle with the disease, instead of remaining dormant, it has returned. Bradley had convulsions for several back-to-back hours yesterday and was hospitalized. He is not in a coma but the malaria has affected his brain and he cannot communicate. Please be in prayer for him, the doctors who are treating him, his family, and his church family. Again, we know God is in control and we trust Him to provide all needs for His own.
TODAY'S EARLIER UPDATE ON ANTONIO MENDEZ: Antonio made it through the night. This morning the doctor closed Antonio's chest. Tony told us that two of the arteries were too filled with calcium deposits that had already crystalized to be opened. Also, if I understood correctly, the aorta has a high calcium build up. The doctor told Tony that Antonio will not be awake today, that he is very, very weak, but maybe he will be awake tomorrow. He is considered to be in critical but stable condition and is, of course, in ICU. Please continue to pray for God's will in Antonio's healing and if that is not God's will, for the grace and strength for the Mendez family to let Antonio go with the knowledge that they will see him again in heaven. Thank you for every prayer lifted and we ask that you please continue to pray. God is in control and we trust in Him.
